SADO/MAACS - Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel Training

The State Appellate Defender Office and the Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel System will present its Annual Fall Training at the WMU Cooley Law School in Lansing on Thursday, October 10, 2019, from 9am-5pm. Registration begins at 8:30am. (The same training is offered in Auburn Hills on Friday, October 11, 2019). 8 hours of CLE will be available.

This training will feature international speaker, author, and storyteller Matthew Taylor of Denver, Colorado, and presentations on trauma and incarceration (necessary information for anyone working with incarcerated individuals), and a discussion on written client communication with a focus on introductory letters. 

The training will also include a number of breakout sessions focused on storytelling, motion practice, deadlines, and e-filing, and a judges panel featuring circuit and appellate court judges.
